January Bowie Birthday Gigs!

So nothing really went wrong, although Omicron tried to jinx it, with a sudden surge days before. Gigs were essentially sold out, although the Covid wave did result in a few no shows, though those who turned out (which is most of the ones who bought tickets, plus a few walk ups) had a great time and gave me some wonderful feedback. But first time is a learning time and I did learn a few things:

1. I had nerves, especially for the first of the two nights but that’s natural. Hopefully I’ll be a bit more confident next time. The positive reaction I got shows that I should be.

2. Doing effects and loop station pedals in stilettoes requires more practice. Stage floors can also be very uneven so it was a bit precarious at times!

3. I should have tried to get contact details for the people I didn’t already know who were there and talked to me and bought me drinks at the end.

4. Most importantly, the lighting needs to be right. Having lights placed on the floor, lighting my face directly from below is not flattering! As a result, the gig videos aren’t up to scratch and can’t be published, but I do have a few stills which I’m posting here. Next gig is at the Lazybones Lounge in Marrickville on St Paddy’s Day, 17th March. Come if you can, especially if you love David Bowie!
